Holiday Workout at Home

Hey everyone, Joe here and I have a great “mini-workout” you can do at home. I know it’s been hectic and I don’t want you to miss another workout!

Here is an easy (as in you don’t need any equipment) workout that will take about 30 minutes:

Warm-up

It’s nice outside so try to go for a 5 minute run or walk, followed by various stretches and basic movements we use in class. Mountain climbers, jumping jacks, push-ups, do this on your own at a moderate intensity and slowly increase until you break a good sweat!

Circuit 1 – As Many Rounds As Possible (AMRAP) in 10 minutes of:

  • 15 squats
  • 10 sit-ups
  • 5 push-ups

Circuit 2 – AMRAP in 5 minutes of:

  • 10 dynamic squats
  • 10 switch-lunges
  • 5 jump-squats

Circuit 3 – AMRAP in 5 minutes of:

  • 10 hollow-body to tuck (knees-up chest-up)
  • 10 second hollow-body hold
  • 10 second superman plank

Skill – Spend 5 minutes practicing push-up variations. Don’t worry about pushing too hard, this is meant to be playful and around 60-70% intensity. Focus more on quality reps and on variations you can’t do! Here’s a short list of a few our our favorites:

  • dive-bomber
  • diamond
  • wide grip
  • spider-man
  • inch-worm
  • handstand (for the brave!)

P.S. I hope everyone has noticed handstands we’ve been getting more excited about handstands and encouraging members to try them….. keep your eyes open, I think someone is trying to add handstand progressions into our workouts!
